Changes
There will be changes to the compensation of the Sickness Insurance Fund Silta starting from 1.1.2025.
By decision of the General Fund Meeting on 28.11.2024:
• Massage will not be reimbursed in 2025
• The initial deductible of 70 euros / year for medicines will not be reimbursed in 2025
Changes to the rules:
There will be clarifications to the reimbursement of medical fees.
The two-year reimbursement policy for prosthetic care will be abolished.

The General Fund Meeting on 28 November 2024 decided that in 2025 the initial deductible for medicines and the costs of massage will not be reimbursed.
The decision is based on continuously rising costs, which has strained the sickness fund's finances. From the beginning of 2025, the initial deductible for medicine purchases will increase by €70, and in addition, the 10% VAT on medicines will increase to 14%. Visit fees for public healthcare services will also increase by 22.5 – 45%.
MEDICINES IN 2025
The sickness fund will not reimburse the initial deductible of €70 for medicines under the Health Insurance Act in 2025.
After the initial deductible is met, the sickness fund will reimburse medicines prescribed by a doctor and covered by Kela compensation according to the reference price.
Of the medicines included in the reference price, the sickness insurance fund will reimburse the medicine according to the reference price in full. If the insured person takes a medicine that is more expensive than the reference price, he or she will pay the part exceeding the reference price himself or herself at the pharmacy.
The annual deductible for medicine reimbursements under the Health Insurance Act, i.e. the so-called medicine ceiling, will increase to €633.17.
MASSAGE 2025
The sickness insurance fund will not reimburse the costs of massage, chiropractors, naprapaths and osteopaths at all in 2025.
OTHER
As of 1 January 2025, the change in the calculation formula for sickness allowance and rehabilitation allowance will reduce the amount of sickness allowance for everyone except those on low incomes. Sickness allowances for members of the sickness insurance fund Silta will be processed at the sickness insurance fund office. Kela will pay the sickness allowances.
